This is a cringy read.Just because something is dark does not mean one must drag the reader through the muck. The first 100 pages is devoted to a young woman who remembers the murder of her family and yet tells us that she has lied about it, even though the flashbacks suggest otherwise; it makes no sense and the disconcerting portrayal of the MC just goes round and round without any clarity. And her brother Ben has some serious sexual issues that should not even be spoken of; unfortunately, Flynn insists on highlighting them. I didn't finish the story for these reasons and because the plot was so meaningless. Flashbacks included insignificant details, disturbing content, and repeated cycles of pointless dialogue.
