This sequel proves itself far scarier than the first. We get POVs from the villains here; in fact, a good chunk of the story is told from their viewpoint. Which makes us actually root for Reva more than we normally might.

You see, Reva, the main character from the first book, who gets less page time in this one, is a rotten spoiled brat who treats everyone with disdain.

But we wind up wanting to be with Reva, not the villains. The bad guys are so awful, it's truly frightening. The precarious situations are handled far more seriously, at an adult level in some respects in terms of the level of terror. This story deals quite heavily with a kidnapping situation and the three kidnappers cruelty in a pretty grave manner.

Perhaps, that is why Stine chose to plunge back into Reva's POV to drive Book #3.

So, this book is definitely a chiller, and Reva is delightfully snarky as always. I just wanted a lot more of her perspective.
