Don't Hang Up

Don't Hang Up reminds me of Don't Breathe and ATM in the way it takes a trio of idiot pranksters who think they are cool and turns their own foolish game against them. The movie wasn't too scary, but more of a look at how two teenage boys handle a mysterious caller's game play.
I almost turned the movie off in the beginning because it was so cliche with its sexual innuendos and douche bag language. In fact, the two leads--Brady and Sam--are so obnoxious and insensitive about the very serious pranks they pull that you don't root for them at all at first. The movie opens with a woman who receives a call from the police that someone is in her home and to stay put in her room, but when she fears that her little girl is at risk, she panics. That's all we get of the scene and then the camera cuts to the guys and their third partner, Mosley, who are in hysterics.
But then that changes when the mystery man begins making his phone calls to them and you actually start to care what's happening to these guys. Their attitude severely shifts and you get to see some of their humane qualities, which is refreshing. There are also some interesting surprises, quite a few.
Don't completely like the ending. I'll just say that I like reconciliation and there was no room for it.
