Fear (1990)

An original concept with a psychic young woman who helps the police anticipate the whereabouts of a murdered before he can strike again.

Writing Quality: A unique and engaging story that upholds the tension all the way through. Ally Sheedy (Breakfast Club) delivers an interesting performance as an emotional psychic, Caycee, who has visions of the killer just before he takes his next victim. There are a lot of intense moments and the friendship between Caycee and her neighbor Jack enhances the fast-paced edginess of the plot.

Scare Factor: Caycee sees visions in a blue, blurry haze, never able to quite see the face of the madman. But these moments prove frightening as we know he is about to make his move. What's more, the killer is able to sense Caycee watching him, creating this strange psychic connection between them. His voice is similar to Candyman's as he directly speaks to Caycee in a haunting personal way. The kills are sudden and Caycee sees the bodies, which adds to the psychological fear.

Content (sex, language, & violence): There is a brief strip club scene in a blue, blurry haze where dancers' chests are fully visible. Some language. The kills are swift but violent.

Acting: Okay. Nothing outstanding.

Values: A neighbor helping Caycee with her overwhelming emotions dealing with the visions of the crazed killer.

Bonus: Lauren Hutton stars
