An original thriller, one that lends a realistic message with gripping suspense and a lingering remembrance.
Writing Quality: A realistic-driven plot with sudden elements of dread, fear, and suspicion. Excellent unique story that masters a claustrophobic tension that tightens with each scene. One of the premises involves London's expectations for the two main characters (Sudan refugees) to blend in/adapt. Yet, the goings-on in their new house make that impractical. And the authorities' unrealistic and unjust demands emphasize the rising strain of something evil lurking within the house.
Scare Factor: Unexpected moments of beastly people whose presence turns more suspect and terrifying with each reappearance, leaving the husband and wife and us in confusion, realizing that their sinister existence is quickly becoming more meaningful. The growls and moans from within the walls are haunting.
Content (sex, language, & violence): No sex. One F bomb. Violence is more threatening than actually physical.
Acting: Excellent, real, relatable.
Values: Staying strong in spite of adversity.
Bonuses: A chilling twist
