Better Not Watch This One

Good Christmas horror movies are difficult to find, but this one is just plain disturbing and unacceptable. I have to talk about this one with spoilers so it will make sense. So WARNING--SPOILERS AHEAD.
The babysitter Ashley, 17, is a likeable character--remember her in The Visit? Well, she plays a likeable character here too. Too bad her 12-year-old watch is a sadistic cold-blooded killer. That's right; the innocent-faced boy you see above plays a gruesome game. For the first 3o minutes of the film, Ashley, and the audience, are led to believe that someone is out to get them. Surprise! It's just Luke and his buddy Garrett (also from The Visit, though much more likeable in that one), who think it will be fun to tie her up because she won't give in to Luke's insistence that she kiss him. Luke calls her boyfriend and ex and lures them into his twisted Home Alone-like game where he gleefully taunts them and kills them. The movie doesn't actually show anything graphic given the intensity of what Luke does, but watching him dance around and laugh as he hurts people is enough for any movie-goer to toss this one out.
Is it scary? Not at all. All it has going for it is immature sexual innuendos, a demented pre-teen playing out his sick dark homicidal fantasy, and a cynical ending that assures us he will continue fooling his parents into thinking his life was at risk, their precious little angel, and that he will probably get away with what he's done.
