The Perfect Tenant

This Lifetime thriller is reminiscent of the 1987 The Stepfather in that the villain, Daniel AKA Bryan, is apathetic to others; without a doubt, he is a sociopath and we know this from the start. The exposition mirrors those of Silent Night Deadly Night and Christmas Evil, that is, disturbing. Thereafter, "Bryan" invades the life of Jessica and her adopted daughter, Laura, posing as "the perfect tenant". While Laura suspects something off about him, unfortunately for everyone else, Jessica does not.

Daniel is a special kind of strange, giving that off the charts weird vibe that the men in the aforementioned films exhibit as well, the almost robotic behavior suggesting functionality as a human being does not exist as they move to their own monotone symphony.

By the end, Daniel supplies his reason for targeting Jessica, citing her involvement with his father, though it's unclear if this is something he manufactured in his child's mind, when the supposed event took place, or if it was a belief his dad planted there. Regardless, the guy is obviously nothing more than a nutcase and can do little more than attempt to plot his revenge.

In sum, it's a strange movie with a strange perpetrator whose offbeat demeanor is easily detected.
