This is an awesome original film. It's not just a thriller, it's a family thriller. It's about taking care of one another, perseverance, and trust.
The scenes are mostly quiet, as the family must remain silent in order to survive lest the monsters hear them, but the scenes are not still. There is constant motion and each move that the characters make is with purpose and precision, which makes us consider how important each action taken is and how careful one must be in the choices he makes.
Suspense is there too. And with the silence, sudden noises are more startling than usual.
The family unit is beautifully expressed in many ways. Each person is so vital in their connection to the others and the film reinforces that with each moment.
I highly recommend this film.
