Outstanding writing and acting. The story is smart. The bad guy, Gary, is a classic egocentric maniac who has his own mother and brother under his thumb. From the moment that Emily's parents meet Emily's new boyfriend, Gary, it is clear how off this new boyfriend is. Emily's character is the sort of young girl who is desperately lonely, even though she has the amazing support of her family, a girl who can so easily fall into the trap of a guy like Gary. He is controlling, even shouting at her, as they eat dinner with her parents. But Emily has already sold her heart to him and nothing that he does, including fatally shooting a man who cuts him off in traffic, will keep her from wanting to be with him. Gary is sentenced to a second degree murder charge and Emily may be charged as an accomplice for handing him the gun.

Then the couple commit a double suicide.

Only, Emily's mom, Jill, is convinced they are still alive in an attempt to escape the law.

Gary's cop brother, their mother, and Jill's own fiance don't buy it, forcing Jill to go rogue.

Gary is one of the most frightening types of villains--super unstable and deadly manipulative, which makes Jill's situation edgy and uncertain.

This is an exciting tense-driven story with a strong cast of characters.
