What makes this story unique is the addition of a young girl, so the risks are higher and the situation more delicate.

Character Development/Writing Quality: Progressive, typical, tightly written.

Values: Parents protecting a little girl, their foster daughter. Seeking truth and justice.

Content (sex, language & violence): A couple make out heavily at the beginning. One use of 'bitch'. Violence is primarily at the onset when the first invasion takes place--masked men drag mom and daughter inside house; mom shoots one of the men, killing him. In the final 15 minutes, a brief altercation involving a stabbing and two people being shot.

Scare Factor/Suspense: This movie, aside from the opening scene, isn't scary. It concentrates on the vindictive girlfriend (Haylie Duff) of the robber who is killed in self-defense. After "meeting" the mom at a PTSD support group, she inserts herself into the family's life and effectively convinces them she's trustworthy as she plays the role of a 'friend'.

Haylie Duffe impressed me as the 'bad guy'. She's a smooth operator and plays the role well, executing havoc in a way that makes it appear as though the mom is behind things. The actress who plays the little girl is sweet and endearing, making your heart more invested in what happens, and lightening up the tension.
