If you haven't seen this 1960 classic, do it now!
Writing Quality: SUPERB! This is an Alfred Hitchcock film. Written by Joseph Stefano (The Outer Limit series). Need I say more?
Scare Factor: The film's crux is its psychological edge. From the time Marion steals the cash from her boss to the very end, you're riveted by what's happening. . .and what will follow.
Content (sex, language, & violence): The opening scene shows Marion and Sam half-dressed, having just been intimate. No language. Violence is cold, calculated, and swift. The famous shower scene is the ultimate act of violence, and the longest-lasting.
Values: Punishment for theft, search for missing person, getting to the bottom of the truth.
Acting: Great. I love how people show such manners and respect for each other. No filthy talk or foolish behavior, just common courtesy (aside from the psycho, of course).
Bonuses: The shower scene death. The reveal.
Psycho will forever be a timeless classic, riddled with ever-tightening suspense and a complex unraveling of a deranged soul.
