Yet another hidden jewel that I never saw until now. Well, better later than never. . .
Writing Quality: Simple and intelligent because it meets the 80's horror expectations of a good psychological terror. There are some clever turns throughout as well. One of the facets of the film that I especially appreciate are the characters. They are enjoyable, simple, and likeable. And they respond to shocking events (i.e. finding a dead body or the killer) in smart and realistic ways.
Scare Factor: A bit reminiscent of Friday the 13th, Black Christmas, and Happy Birthday to Me. Overall, more startling than scary, though the ending....
Content (sex, language, & violence): One sex scene that shows a woman's breasts and butt. Another scene shows a brief side view of a woman's chest. Mild language. Violence--the kills, though they are mostly quick and off-screen.
Values: Looking out for one another. Guilt over an accidental death. Making things right. Protecting each other.
Acting: Pretty good. The main character is the best, but all of the sorority girls have strong acting skills.
Bonuses: Clever kills and a shocking ending! Stars from Days of Our Lives and Parenthood star.
