Writing Quality: This is a good plot with compelling turns. The sense of confinement is artfully executed. We root for the daughter (Chloe) and anxiously anticipate what will happen with each revealing piece of information Chloe uncovers. Yet, there are questions left unanswered.

SPOILERS: There is a shower scene that reveals a pentagram on the mom's back. But it's never shown again, much less explained. Huh?? And why does she wait four years to start handicapping her daughter? And why does she do it at all? We aren't given any understanding of her motives, so that's where the script falls apart.

Scare Factor: Knowing that the mom is up to something is enough to raise the hairs on your arms. Sarah Paulson is so good at portraying a caring nurturing mother (Diane) who tends to all of her daughter Chloe's health problems daily. Yet, you already know something is amiss (darn trailer gives it away). Once the mom knows her daughter knows the truth, the scare factor peaks. If Chloe felt confined before, due to being in a wheelchair and depending on her mother's help, it's nothing compared to how the monster. . .uh, mother keeps her confined once she realizes Chloe is onto her.

Content: (sex, language, & violence): No sex, minimal if any language, mild violence

Values: Family relationships, questioning parents, seeking truth

Acting: Good and believable. Chemistry between mom and daughter works well.

Bonuses: The twists
